A kitchen tray's fresh new look with Annie Sloan
I've started painting furniture again after a break of several months. I'm currently working on my six kitchen chairs and a full-length mirror. In the meantime, I decided to paint a wooden tray (with folding legs) that I had knocking about in the loft, rather than give it to the local charity shop.
I used three Annie Sloan colours and her waxes:
- Graphite to cover the wood colour
- Scandinavian Pink
- Antibes Green (one of my favourite Annie Sloan colours)
- Clear wax, dark wax and to finish another layer of clear wax.
I wanted the Scandinavian Pink to come through the Antibes Green to make the tray less one dimensional. I don't have a "before" photo but it was a light-medium wood.
I buy my Annie Sloan products (paint, wax and brushes) from Read and Booth in Wandsworth Bridge Road, London. They are small, independent framing business run by two very charming and helpful guys.
