I bought a Victorian armchair in ghastly floral material at a shop on Golborne Road, off Portobello Road. I was quick to take it to Chairman & Son to have it restored and re-covered in dark grey linen and buttons in mustard/gold velvet — adding a touch of quirkiness to the chair. 

It was delivered today and takes pride of place in my revamped sitting room. It is the most comfortable chair I've ever sat in. It is very deep and has a slightly reclining back so once you are sitting in it, you just want to stay there!
