Finding style inspiration at Daylesford Cafe, London

Don't you just love traditional enamel ware?  I'm sure we all grew up with it in our mothers' kitchens. Remember the cream with green rim or the white with blue rim?  It is making a huge comeback here in the UK and I couldn't resist buying some pieces today when I was in the Daylesford Cafe Pimlico for brunch.

Everything in the café and shop is divine. While you are eating you can cast your eye around the walls as the shelves are full of things to buy - kitchen ware, candles, beauty products, clothes, children's items etc - and the shop has the most mouth-watering display of organic food. We couldn't resist buying some of the cheeses - Stinking Bishop, Vacherin and one of their cheddars.  We also bought some organic fruit and veg, some salami and I even picked up some gorgeous natural decorations for the Christmas tree.

But what really caught my eye was the traditional enamelware. I couldn't resist the teapot as I love the shape, two pie dishes and a large dish which is perfect for baking lasagne.

I recently ditched my electric kettle in favour of a whistling kettle to use on the gas hob.  It is identical to the one my mother had when I was growing up but these days they mainly are sold for camping or boating.  However they are way more economical to run (and only cost £10.99 on Amazon!) than an electric kettle and I love the whistling, so I've archived my electric kettle for this beauty below. It works well with the enamelware teapot don't you think?  I might have to go back to Daylesford and get some enamel mugs for the tea.  I might need to buy a caravan or boat to complete the look!
