What happens when Kiwi design meets Scottish cashmere?
At the Spirit of Christmas, I visited the stall of a Kiwi friend of mine, Annabel, from Christchurch. She and her sister, Caroline, own Cashmere Affair, which marries Kiwi design with Scottish cashmere.
Cashmere Affair started in New Zealand in April 2012 by Caroline and is a combination of modern, colourful New Zealand design (the twist), and the wonderful quality and rich history of Scottish Cashmere (the timeless).
Its a family affair too; Annabel is married to James Hinchliffe, whose renowned family business, Z Hinchliffe and Sons, spin the cashmere yarn at their mill in Denby Dale, West Yorkshire. I took these photos from their stall (my friend Annabel is modelling the red poncho):
