I love finding quirky items for the home and then an interesting way of using them.

I recently purchased this gorgeous little wooden horse on wheels from my favourite local interiors shop, Quirky Dovetail, and decided it would make the perfect place to rest my moped helmet and gloves just inside the front door. A bit off-the-wall, I know, and it seems to have become a talking point with anyone coming to my home!

And this large vintage Ukrainian preserving jar (also from Quirky Dovetail) was irresistible with it's very unusual shape — usually they have smooth sides but this one has an interesting sort of "ribbing" around it.  These jars make perfect vases (especially for hydrangeas) as they have narrow openings. The older ones are so much nicer and better quality glass than the modern ones.
