Give your stairs the wow factor
Those of you who follow my blog have heard me banging on about the tah-dah effect when walking into a home and how important it is to create an instant impact because people form an opinion of a home within about the first 20 seconds of entering. I always invite my clients to come to my house for our first meeting and the one thing that they all want is a stair runner like mine to create the tah-dah effect (or wow factor!). My runner (below) was something I created from three vintage Peruvian rugs.
However Roger Oates has a fabulous range of runners and matching carpets and several of my clients have already had one installed (just up to the first floor landing).
The latest client to have a runner installed decided to take the runner all the way to the top of the house, three floors as well as the wall-to-wall carpet on the landings (their floorboards on the landings weren't good enough to paint). I chose a colour that complemented the beautiful original Victorian floor tiles in the hallway. This Roger Oates runner is called Trent Raspberry with the Ashby Raspberry on the landings. The client is going to add their own brass stair rods at a later date. I think the before and after photos speak for themselves!
If you have any questions or comments on how to create the tah-dah effect in your entrance hall, do contact me. I would love to hear from you.
