I wanted the surface of the ottoman flatter so I had it buttoned. It makes a huge difference with the addition of a few strategically placed buttons!

I have nearly completed the revamp of my sitting room. I have an ottoman which I use as a coffee table and it was covered in a nondescript plain linen fabric that had definitely seen better days.

I decided to have it reupholstered in a more funky fabric and found this gorgeous Harlequin velvet range called Eglomise (Harlequin Eglomise). The colour I chose is Amethyst.

The rug under the ottoman needed to be changed as it was too bright for the new colour scheme in the room.

I managed to find an old Turkish rug yesterday on Jenny Hicks Beach's stand at the Decorative Fair. The new gold in the rug enhances the gold already in the room and the mauve in the rug enhances the ottoman.
