Sunday was a glorious sunny day for a change and no rain or wind forecast. A friend and I took advantage of the weather to head out of London to Lewes in Sussex to go to the Lewes flea market to buy stock for his shop.
For those of you who don't know Lewes, it is a beautiful historic town near Brighton and has some excellent places to buy second hand and antique items. The flea market has two floors and several rooms crammed with stuff and it's so much cheaper than London prices. It was tempting to buy a lot of things for myself but I restricted my purchases to six vintage French coffee cups.
We managed to buy enough furniture to fill the van and then headed to the famous Bills restaurant. It opened in Lewes in 2001 and, since then, Bill, the owner, has opened a number of other Bills restaurants in Brighton and in London.
