I took the train to Lewes today to visit a friend. It was a grey day with drizzle but it doesn't take away any of the beauty of this gorgeous historic town. My friend lives in the historic part of the town so we wandered up to the high street, poking around in the many antiques shops and flea markets. Then we walked down over the bridge through the main street and up the road that goes over the hill to Glyndebourne to get a view of Lewes. There are some stunningly beautiful little cottages in Lewes some of which I have photographed below.
Lewes has loads of fantastic antiques shops and flea markets and also lovely small independent shops. It's also a foodie heaven. Thank you Fiona for a fabulous day, despite the weather!
