I always relish the chance to visit Petersham Nurseries for lunch. Yesterday, a friend and I drove a route that takes us across Richmond Park and down by the Thames river. It was a beautiful day and everything looked so wonderful that I got a bit trigger happy with my camera! Some of the deer were resting right beside the road. I thought I'd share all the photos with you.
The first thing we did when we arrived a Petersham Nurseries was have lunch — you take your tray of food into one of the glasshouses or sit outside. There were two robins in the glasshouse where we ate and they were very tame (see photo below)
I love the colours of these metal tables and chairs
Photos from in the glasshouse, where we had coffee.
After lunch, we took a wander around the plants outside
The vegetable garden
And of course no visit to Petersham Nurseries is complete without a wander around the shop which is in the same glasshouse as the Michelin star restaurant. I love the way they display the plants and other items for sale

This post is for all you garden lovers. If you are lucky enough to live in London you have the chance to see the gardens of Petersham House, the home of the owners of Petersham Nurseries, Gael and Francesco Boglione. Their home is adjacent to the Nurseries and is a stunning Georgian house with extensive gardens, swimming pool and tennis court. They have a substantial vegetable garden which is used for the restaurant in the Nurseries.
